The Komatsu S132 is a head that truly delivers, even in extremely demanding logging conditions.  The high tractive force and sturdy build with its reinforced frame offer reassuring reliability, and the generous 133-degree tilt angle provides great manoeuvrability while reducing loads on the head when working in steep terrain.

The Komatsu S132 is built for non-stop efficiency with its twin feed rollers and our impressive Flex Friction Control for the knives, ensuring low friction between the stem and the feed path for effective delimbing.  Fast and accurate length measuring is another of its advantages.  What’s more, the Komatsu S132 comes as standard with Constant Cut – our popular saw unit for the right chain speed throughout the cutting cycle.

The head has smart hose routing and protected head components.  It is also very service-friendly with easy access to service points, the valve assembly and all other important components.  All of these benefits can be adapted to your specific needs as well.  The available options and custom solutions encompass everything from measurement and feed rollers to colour marking, stump treatment and multi-tree handling.  In addition, there is the Find End Laser option, which eliminates unnecessary clean cutting.  Altogether, this makes the Komatsu S132 a head that enhances productivity, flexibility and reliability in all kinds of forests!

• Advanced feed system: Two feed motors and two driven feed rollers provide excellent pressure contact points to squeeze the stem. Flex Friction Control system utilizes advanced sensors and intelligence to ensure low friction without sacrificing delimbing quality.
• Rugged delimbing knife system: Three hydraulically controlled delimbing knives, a fourth moving vertical knife, and a fifth pre-delimbing knife deliver high performance. Cast iron knife construction ensures high durability.
• Highly efficient cutting system: 30 cm3 saw motor powers the rugged 29.5-32.5-in (750-825 mm) saw bar and chain. Automatic cut control, chain tensioning and chain oiling for efficient cutting all day long.
• Accurate length/diameter measuring systems: Patented length-measuring wheel cylinder design ensures constant pressure to closely follow stem irregularities and a find end photocell sensor provides excellent accuracy. Four-point diameter measuring system ensures superior diameter measurement.
• MaxiXT smart control system: State-of-the-art control system with intuitive graphical interface to manage all aspects of head control and performance. Easy programming of individual operator control preferences plus production parameters such as tree species, length and diameter.
• Excellent reliability and serviceability: Computer and hydraulic hoses/tubes are well-protected for high reliability. All daily service can be performed at ground level without repositioning. Centralized lubrication points further reduce service time.
