What is required fuel type for Komatsu Tier 4 Interim and Tier 4 Final Products?

Komatsu Tier 4 interim and Tier 4 final machines utilize ultra-low sulfur diesel.

What are some best practices for maintaining my fuel system?

  • Park on level ground. This ensures accurate fuel readings during next pre-inspection.
  • Refill at the end of a shift when machine is still warm. This reduces condensation in the tank which can go a long way towards keeping contamination levels lower in the fuel system.
  • Check the prefilter for contamination on a daily basis as part of the pre-operation inspection. If there is contamination in the sediment bowl, open the valve on the bottom, and drain the contents into a catch can. Make sure the engine is off before draining the contents.
